Temporary Housing

Many graduate students plan to arrive a couple of weeks before classes begin so that they can arrange for housing. While looking, there are a few options available for temporary housing. One option is to stay with a student who is already here. You might want to send a message to grad@cs.pitt.edu to introduce yourself. You can also look at the list of students here.

Other options are outlined here:

Here are a few links to help you find housing in Pittsburgh:

The Office of International Services (OIS) at Pitt offers the following information to new students and scholars in the International Social & Cultural Programming section of their website. It is split up into two sections:
  • Before arrival has information about visas, transfer students, immunizations, health insurance, settling expenses, carrying money in the U.S., housing, shipping/storing luggage, transportation to/from the airport
  • After arrival has information about orientation, transportation, finding housing, setting up utilities, buying/renting furniture, getting your driver's license, banking, child care, receiving money from abroad, and much, much more.
