Shi-Kuo Chang

Kung-fu masters, Chinese take-out delivery men, Laundromat cleaners, and Triad goons. These are traditional roles of the Asian-American actor and actress. But in recent years, they are landing positions as talk show hosts, doctors on E.R., newscasters, and chefs on the food network. What does this mean? How visible have Asian Americans become in the media? We'll be exploring some of the evolution of Asians in the movies, from "Fu Manchu to "Kill Bill."
THEME: From resolution of cultural tension to cultural fusion, a new global cultural belonging to the younger generation is being created.
