Sharing content through XML

• These portals allow an XML representation of the stories to be served out.  This allows for a truly distributed system.  For example we can pull headlines in from other sites to display on ours.  The content is updated dynamically.  The schema is a defined web standard, the RDF format.  My website uses a feed from the Slashdot news site.  The XML file can be viewed here:    rdf file for Slashdot
