Collaborative Awareness through Fingers

A finger acts like a cursor and highlights objects of interest in a shared information space.

Each user in the collaborative environment has his/her own designated finger(s) in the the shared space, and the locations of, movements of, and changes produced by fingers are signalled by broadcasting to all remote collaborators who need to be aware of them [KB01].

Thus, each user is a client, and the interaction between different clients is mediated via a shared information server.
