Installation

The face alive features are fully integrated into the newest version of the virtual classroom Student Tool. To install the Student Tool just follow the directions specified in the Readme file of the Student Tool directory(also shown below).

Sun Java SDK Installation

* Please make sure a Java SDK, or JRE are installed before running
the Student Tool.
* Follow the directions at Sun's website for installing the Java software.
* Make sure to set your path correctly!

Starting Java Student Tool

* Make sure to run the Java Student from the directory that contains
the images directory, library directory, and the files config_student.ini
and config_facealive.ini.
* The file config_student.ini specifies the name server. For example the
host for Pitt is adam.cs.pitt.edu and the port number is 2020. The file
config_facealivep.ini specifies the image server. For example the host
for Pitt is adam.cs.pitt.edu and the port number is 7654.
* Double click StudentTool410.jar to begin the program, or from the
command line from inside the Java Student Tool V4 directory type
java -jar StudentTool410.jar
