Now we will go through some of DPM tools and see which one supports more features of above. Let us suppose I just started a startup company. The next step I want to do is to choose a best tool from the existing DPM tools. So I am going to take a tour of the following tools and select one which fits to my current needs and future plans.

After a thorough search on Internet,  I considered the following tools:

1. Microsoft project 2000 with project central – http://www.microsoft.com/office/project

4. PlanView – http://ww.planview.com

Platform requirements for each of the above DPM tools:

Microsoft Project 2000 is supported only by Windows 95/98/NT and for Project Central, which is web based companion to Microsoft Project 2000 we need Windows 2000 Server or Windows NT Server version 4.0

• WebProject is a Java based 3-Tier Client/Server application supported by windows 95/98/NT, Solaris, and Linux.
  
  
• The TeamCenter system is a 100% Pure Java application and runs either as a Netscape or Microsoft browser application, or as a networked desktop application installed on the users computer Since TeamCenter is platform independent, can supported by Windows95/98/NT, Solaris, Linux, and Other Unix. Web servers supported by TeamCenter are Apache (bundled & pre-configured) Netscape Microsoft IIS/PWS MacOS Servers.
  
  
• PlanView version 6.0 multi-tier software provides 100% web software within a Windows environment, supported by all web servers.
