    Context is useful in representing and reasoning about a restricted state space within which a problem can be solved.

  • Cognitive science viewpoint:

    Context is used to model interaction and situations in a world of infinite breadth.

  • Is context known a priori or a posteriori ?

    - a priori:

    - context can have discrete, well-defined representation

    - representation can be static

    - a posteriori:

    - context is dynamic

    - can be represented only during problem solving (or interaction)
