Sherif Khattab is a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, University of Pittsburgh. Sherif has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses, including security courses with a special interest in hands-on ethical hacking courses. His research focuses on the systems aspects of cybersecurity as applied to cloud computing, Internet-of-Things, electronic voting, and Big Data. Sherif has an h-index of 12 (Google Scholar Index) and 10 (Scopus Index) with 60+ publications and he has successfully supervised 15+ graduate students. Prior to Pitt, Sherif was an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University. He had interned at Google Inc., Ericsson Data Networks, and Bosch Research. He obtained his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science, the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 and 2004, respectively. Sherif has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Cairo University in 1998.
