Residual Teaching Effectiveness
The teaching effectiveness is the highest at the beginning, especially after a face-to-face meeting, and decreases in time.
To combat this, different education strategies may be considered. For instance one may resort to technological solutions such as virtual classroom, surrogate
presence, avatar and the like to circumvent the problem. Or one may consider restructuring the curriculum: instead of a three-credit, fifteen-week-long course, why not three one-month-long courses?
One additional high-touch measure is the provision of a holistic distance education support infrastructure that offers continuous support to students in their learning activities from start to finish.
