SCORM ---PAST

In early 1999 the first draft version of the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) was developed as a way to integrate and connect the work of these organizations in support of the DoD's Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative.

SCORM 1.0 (Shareable Courseware Object Reference Model)

In January 2000, ADL released SCORM Version 1.0, a first in converging learning content. This release represented a work in progress.

After a successful amount of testing, ADL released example implementations and a suite of conformance testing software.

SCORM 1.1(Sharable Content Object Reference Model)

One year later SCORM Version 1.1 became available. This marked the end of the trial implementation phase and the beginning of the application phase for ADL. The specifications were examined, updated and clarified prior to this release.
