Lecture II on Virtual Spaces: From the Past to the Future

Lecture 2. Spatial Relations and Patterns (空間關係及模式)

Pattern Language for a Small Town (小鎮的模式語言)

In this case, the pattern language not only helps the people shape their houses, but also helps them shape their streets and towns collectively. For instance, there are further patterns in the language that include:
Narrow streets
Street branching
Front door terraces
Connected buildings
Public wells at intersections
Steps in the street
These larger patterns create the structure of the town.
