X-SMILES!

A problem up until now is that all of the XML technologies that have been studied are not supported by common web browsers.  Internet explorer supports some of the technologies, but not all and Netscape supports none of them.  This leaves users on such platforms as Macintosh and various flavors of Unix and Linux at a severe disadvantage.

The Solution: X-SMILES!  All of the XML applications are supported within X-SMILES in a platform independent manner using the Java 2 SDK.  The broswser has a clean and simple interface as seen below:

The introduction of the X-Smiles browser allows those interested in producing Multimedia Presentations on the World Wide Web to do so in a platform independent manner.  X-Smiles also allows for the generation of Multimedia Presentations in a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) approved manner.

Like the Markup Language that it is based on, X-Smiles itself is also extensible.  The source code is available at the X-Smiles Home Page and it may be improved to fit each user's particular needs.
