What They Should Do
Different image search engines behave in different ways, but all have a
common theme when searching for images.
Ideally, an image search engine would have the following features

- Allow keyword searching of image content, date, and creator
- Let you search by color, shape, and other formal attributes
- Search databases internal to a site
- Display the image as part of your search results
- Allow you to find the rights-holder
- Furnish the rights status and terms for licensing
