Choosing the proper data mining method is one of the most critical and difficult tasks in the KDD process.

This paper firstly proposed the conceptual map which is organized based on main decisional criteria used by human experts.

The intelligent data mining techniques recommender is developed in order to automatically provide recommendations on the best data mining technique. A CBR approach has been used.

However, the CBR approach requires enormous case bases to be realiable.

In the future, the deployment of the recommender would be more reliable in a shared environment, where many data miners could contribute to the enrichment of the knowledge base.
