Exploits Common to Both Systems Unix Specific Exploits

More Exploits

More exploits are made through the default accounts when you clean install the operating system. Unix usually comes with many accounts, but the one that everyone is trying to get into is “root”. It is equivalent to the “administrator” account on NT in terms of privileges, i.e. full access to the system. Another point is even if you have a very good password, it is easily stolen with network packet sniffers that go through the packets to search for clear text passwords. Therefore it is a good idea to maintain multiple passwords for different or even the same system(s).
