If you system is running as a standalone web server and no other services running, it is recommended to disable all port access to and from the sever except for port 80 (HTTP) IP protocols 6 (TCP) and 17 (UDP). If all ports are filtered, you don’t have to worry about misconfigured services or programs allowing a backdoor to your system. Also check the security logs for multiple failed attempts at login for any user account, especially the administrative accounts.
