Conclusion
- As with all mutlimedia applications, engineering environments that
support the process of hypermedia development of learning scenarios
should allow the production of a variety of learning applications
and should produce a formal specification of the applications.
This formal specification can be separated into three levels of abstraction:
- conceptual
- component
- presentation
The desired naviagation paths should also be specified formally.
- Special attention needs to be placed on monitoring and modeling
user behavior in online and distance learning applications. Solutions
to adaption range from adaptable to dynamic applications.
- Synchronous collaboration and information sharing are also
a main concern in online and distance learning applications. Some
current techniques for facilitating communication include:
- talking head transmissions
- shared whiteboards
- fingers
