.NET (dot net) Platform is a new Runtime Environment for developing and running applications.
.NET is aimed at accelerating the next generation of distributed computing.
Prerequisites for distributed computing
- Everything needs to be a Web service.
- Ability to aggregate and integrate these Web services easily
- Existance of simple end user experience
