Given this discussion of how this system should work, let us break the requirements of the system down into IC cards. These IC cards will be used in the next phase to determine the relational graph.

The main manager IC is the starting point for the system. This IC sends activate messages to other ICs to inform them that they should become live.

The desktop IC will either send a data request message to a track IC, crossing IC, or both. The message is intended to request the current state from that IC. The Other IC's Task sections above indicate the nature of the states.
