INTRODUCTION

Hypermedia combines both hypertext and multimedia.
  • Introducing new problems like linking data components that present temporal continuity along with spatial and exhibition features.

  • Its an extension to the combination of hypertext characteristics with those of multimedia.

  • It allows composition of an associative structure equivalent to a semantic network, where nodes can be expanded into a variety of sensorial forms such as visual and audio info.

  • Considering hypermedia as a paradigm to develop information-oriented systems, there is a definite need for hypermedia data models.

  • The model requirements are different from those of conventional data bases or documents mainly when aspects such as navigation through data, user interaction, and data perception and synchronization of components with temporal continuity are considered.

  • This paper briefly touched on RMM (Relationship Management Methodology), while focusing mainly in two of its steps:
  • 1)information domain modeling
  • 2)navigational design.
