CONCLUSION
  • This paper presents a framework to categorize link types which allows the design and construction of richer hypermedia applications.
  • Link design which is the kernel of model-based approaches to hypermedia design, is one of the areas that can benefit from the use of link types.
  • Link creation is influenced by both information and operational elements, so these issues should be considered during link design efforts. Information influence is related to conceptual relationships from the domain of interest, while operational influence is related to data manipulation services.
  • In addition to the influence of the multidimensional vision for aspects of data specification, it is also proposed that service and destination influences should be considered during link design.
  • Besides link types related to content and structure; behavioral and constraint related links should be investigated.
  • Links types and categories can also be identified and considered both with model based approaches and with authoring tools to hypermedia design.
