RDF Elements
RDF has drawn influence from several different sources:
- Web standardization community – in the form of HTML metadata and PICS
- Library community
- Structured document community – in the form of SGML and XML
- Knowledge representation community (although RDF does not specify a mechanism for reasoning – you can build one on top, though)
- Object-oriented languages, modeling languages, and databases
