The third key element in the CRC card technique is object role-play.
As a facilitation technique, role-play really forces all team members to participate and really engage with the design.
As a design technique, role-play really creates a focus on how the design makes objects collaborate to work through a use case.
The main problem of role-play is that it is easy for teams to role-play a use case, yet neglect or gloss over difficulties. The result is that a team may decide a role-play is successful, when in fact it may well be incomplete or even impossible.
One possible approach is that team role-play feature one team member as the user, so that the user characteristics and goals are considered, and the object collaboration can be reviewed to determine whether it meets these goals.
