  • The development process of multimedia applications should consider all the phases of the traditional software engineering instead of just restricting to the implementation part.

  • Good modelling phase for analysis and design are required for error free implementation.

  • Objcet oriented modelling Language (UML)has become the defacto standard for the traditional software development from the early stages of requirements to detailed design.

  • Several extensions have been made to this UML to use it for multimedia software applications also.

  • But these modelling approaches have to show their feasibility in real world applications.

  • Prototype implementation of support tools extending Rational Rose are required.
