I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Science Department at University of Pittsburgh, and I got my M.S. from the same department in 2001. Before I came to Pitts, I got my M.E. in the Department of Computer Science and Technology  at Tsinghua University (P.R. China) in 1999 and B.E. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University (P.R.China) in 1996. At the current rate of progress, I expect to finish my Ph.D. in 2004.

My research interests span the following areas:

• real-time systems,
• parallel and distributed systems,
• low-power computing,
• fault tolerance,
• operating systems,
• embedded systems 

Currently, I am working on Energy and Fault-Tolerance Management in Parallel Real-Time Systems under the supervision of Prof. Rami Melhem and Daniel Mossé.
