The directory for installation was /usr/local/contrib/bin

• OpenOffice 2.0.0 was installed on GNU/Linux machines, (OpenOffice faq). This is an upgrade over the existing version (1.1.5).

  The program name is: openoffice

  If you are running OpenOffice 2.0 for the first time, it will run the installation program meant to install the components needed for each separate user. Follow the on screen instructions (you dont need to enter anything in the screen that asks for your name, address and other particulars). Once the installation is over, run openoffice again and presto, the program is up and running !!!
