I am a second year graduate student at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh. I am working towards the PhD degree in Computer Science. I have a broad interest in many aspects of Computer Systems, such as Computer Architecture, Computer Networking, and Operating Systems. In particular, I'd like to focus my research on the Computer Networking.
I came to US from the "Uyghur Autonomous Region of China" (called "Xinjiang" in Chinese), where I was born and spent the best times of my life. You might be wondering about what "Uyghur" means, and what it has to do with me. Well, in short, Uyghur is the name of an ethnic group and the language spoken its people, and I proudly am a member of this group of people. (Please visit the "about Uyghurs" page for more information about Uyghur and its culture. I assure you'll be pleased to have the opportunity to find out so many interesting things about us - the Uyghur people). I got all of my pre-college education in Uyghur.
I got my B.S. in Computer Science and B.E. in Applied Geophysics from the Jilin University of China. After that I worked as a software engineer in China Delivery Center of Acceture at Dalian for a year. It was a valuable experience working at Accenture, and it's so much fun living in Dalian (it's one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been).

Interests
I love music. I listen to many different genres of music, like classic music, blues, pop, and my favorite is rock. I believe that each type of music has its own fascination, and I believe someone can like classic music as well as the metal rock at the same time (I'm a classic case of this). My favorite bands are Guns N' Roses, Tool, The Eagles, Metallica, and Beatles. I also like playing guitar. I'm not playing guitar a lot as I used to, but it still is one of my favorites.
I like traveling. I like to see places I've never seen before, and like to try new things. I like adventure. I like to make friends, and socialize with people. I don't like dishonest people, and people who only care about themselves.

My Motto
"When you hold fast to your dreams, even during the tough times, the miracle will happen..."
