Held in conjunction with the International Green Computing Conference

August 16 -18 Chicago

New Call for papers for special issue of Elsevier journal Sustainable Computing dedicated to papers that take a theoretical/mathematical/algorithmic approach to sustainable computing. Deadline: January 5, 2011.

The workshop was intended primarily for theoretical computer scientists interested laying the foundation for the fledgling science of power management.
Before the worskhop participants were encouraged to read Susanne Albers' survey in the May issue of CACM on energy efficient algorithms as it gives a good overview of the current state of research in the area. The workshop was held on the last day of the Green Computing Conference, and consisted of short presentations on potentially interesting research directions, followed by discussions. Slides for these presentations can be found below. Limited financial support from the National Science Foundation was available for selected participants.

The First Workshop on the Science of Power Management was held in April 2009 in Washington DC. The report can be found here.
