What inspires my research?
When I think about the nature of
research (philosophically :-)), it reminds me of the amusement of a child when
he sees the world around him for the first time, and then his endeavor to make
meaning out of the seemingly meaningless things. Research, for me begins by
exactly the same kind of amusement regarding a phenomenon, followed by simple
questions in the pursuit to understand things better. Once this process is
done, one is generally in a position to think beyond and at times discover
things unheard of in the past. This research process brings to me many kinds of
joys: joy of learning new things, joy of understanding things better and the
joy of accomplishment. Moreover, I feel that research is vital for shaping the
world of tomorrow. It is these ideas that drive my research.
